I know the link to the short article below by Shawn Blanc is iPhone centric, but his illustration is beautiful. He concisely explains why the Apple screen on the iPhone4 is smaller (3.5") and works better than a larger 4" screen. At first you don't see it, but when one tries to use the large-screened 4" phone in one hand, it's apparent. It's too big for the thumb to be used to navigate with one hand. Things that seem to be important on paper or at first glance may not always be. How about our class lesson plans? 3.5 Inches
